On April 6th (Arizona Gives Day), we had 75 families participate in our Art in Action virtual event. The event showcased the intention and care behind the music and visual arts programs at Free Arts. Teaching artist, Frank Thompson, energetically led the drumming session while teaching artist, Linda Pullinsi, guided us through the process of creating a mandala. We are so grateful for the support we received and our special guests: Lisa Ludolph, a Free Arts Board member who chaired the event, media personality Catherine Anaya who was our emcee, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, and Phoenix Councilperson Laura Pastor. Every dollar raised by this event directly impacts the Free Arts community and helps support Free Arts programs that work to transform children’s trauma into resilience through the arts.

This fun virtual event could not have been done without the dedication and support from our participants, donors, and sponsors. We are so lucky to be part of such an incredible community that continues to help us impact the lives of children. A special thank you to Resilient Presenting Sponsor, Desert Financial Credit Union. A big thank you to our other participating sponsors including Nationwide Insurance and Edward Jones. It was an evening full of creativity and connection giving our supporters a glimpse into the impact of Free Arts, live and in action!
