The Free Arts annual Art from the Heart Auction, chaired by Liz Shabaker and Lisa Portigal, and Honorary Chair, Cheryl Londen took place on October 22nd at the beautiful home of Cheryl Londen with over 120 in attendance. Lincoln Heritage Life Insurance was the Premier Sponsor for the event and generously provided Cheryl’s beautiful home for the event venue and underwrote the delicious food and libations from Creations in Cuisine and the valet parking. The event was also sponsored by The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation and Edward Jones, among many others. Over 45 pieces from local artists were auctioned off at the event.
The featured artist of the event was Denise Yaghmourian who attended the event with her two daughters. Denise has had her work exhibited extensively worldwide, including The Tucson Museum of Art, Phoenix Art Museum, Ceres Gallery in New York, Bogen Galerie in Saint Paul de Vence, France, and SOHO20 Chelsea Gallery in New York.Denise generously donated “Scattered Blue Field” to be auctioned off at the event. The event was wonderfully successful raising over $135,000 benefitting Free Arts programs and will help to advance Free Arts’ mission transforming children’s trauma into resilience through the arts.
