Free Arts Camp Series 2023 kicked off June 5th, beginning with Theater Camp, and was concluded with two Multicultural Arts Camps: MAC 1 and MAC 2.
It’s been a little over a year since Phonetic Spit, a unique Valley nonprofit with similar goals and values to Free Arts, partnered with us to form Mic Check, a monthly teen and young adult open mic event held at Parsons Place every third Saturday of the month.
We are excited to offer a variety of opportunities for individuals, as well as community and corporate groups, to support the programs at Free Arts from either remote or in-person!
For the past two months, Free Arts has opened the doors to Parsons Place to renew our volunteer mentor orientations and trainings. We are excited to have future volunteer mentors in the building learning about the resilience building arts programming that Free Arts provides to the children we serve.
This year Free Arts has teamed up with Phonetic Spit, a local non-profit whose mission is to create brave spaces that help young people find, develop, and publicly present their voices as agents of social change.
The first Transformation Celebration was on Friday, January 28, 2022. Some attendees were neighbors in the area who had watched the construction project and wanted to learn more.
For the past month, just as the Free Arts staff begins to clock out for the night on Wednesday evenings, the building is rejuvenated with hope, creativity, and excitement.
